Universität Koblenz: Overview and History
Universität Koblenz is a dynamic and young public university located in Koblenz, one of Germany's most beautiful cities. While the university's roots go back to 1990, it gained its current independent identity on January 1, 2023, through a restructuring of universities in the Rheinland-Pfalz state. The Koblenz campus of the former University of Koblenz-Landau, which consisted of both Koblenz and Landau campuses, continued its journey as an independent university after this restructuring. This reorganization allowed the university to define and focus its academic profile more clearly.
The university is divided into four main faculties (Fachbereiche): Educational Sciences, Philology and Cultural Studies, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and Computer Science (Informatik). These faculties offer a wide range of bachelor's and master's programs, providing students with opportunities to specialize in various academic fields. The Computer Science department, in particular, stands out with its nationally and internationally recognized research and modern educational approaches. The university aims to maximize students' academic potential by providing an environment that fosters scientific research and innovation.
Study Areas and Key Programs
Universität Koblenz offers you a broad academic spectrum, catering to diverse interests. With a total of 17 bachelor's and 34 master's programs, it's easy for you to find options that align with your career goals. Frequently Asked Questions
I selected Technische Universität Chemnitz (TU) and then computer science (informatik). It showed me the semesters, and since I'm starting from the 1st semester, I chose '1', but the screen froze. When I checked my cart, it was added. Just in case, I tried to remove it from the cart and add it again, but now I can't add it back and I'm getting an error. Has anyone else experienced this issue? ▼
These kinds of issues can happen during peak application periods or due to technical glitches on German university or Uni-Assist application portals. First, try clearing your browser's cookies and attempting again from a different browser or an incognito window. If the problem persists, you should contact the international office of the relevant university (in this case, TU Chemnitz) or the technical support team of the application portal. Taking a screenshot and explaining the issue in detail usually speeds up the resolution. If you encounter a similar situation when applying to Universität Koblenz, contacting the university's Studienbüro (student administration) or International Office directly is the best approach.
Do I need to use Uni-Assist to apply to Universität Koblenz? ▼
