About the Program

This Bachelor's program examines nature and the environment. It is aimed at those interested in natural and environmental science education, particularly biodiversity and landscape ecology. The program combines the core subjects of Biology and Geography, supplemented by basic knowledge from Chemistry, Physics and Statistics, as well as socio-economic and planning courses. Students engage intensively with biological and geo-ecological aspects of geo-ecosystems through practical training, lectures, and seminars. The program also includes communication methods and scientific English. A strong practical orientation is established through a six-week external internship. In the elective area, students can set individual focuses within a diverse range of offerings. As part of a research project, students have the opportunity to apply their acquired knowledge to a specific landscape section or question. The 5th semester can be completed at a foreign university after prior consultation with the examination board (optional semester abroad). The study concludes with a bachelor's thesis and an oral examination.
