Mathematische Modellierung, Simulation und OptimierungMathematical Modeling, Simulation and Optimization

Master of Science (M.Sc.)

About the Program

The Master's program "Mathematical Modeling, Simulation and Optimization" (MSc MMSO) is deliberately designed as an English-language program as it prepares students for entry into a highly internationalized work and research field. In addition to lectures on mathematical modeling, simulation and optimization of complex systems, elective modules allow for individual specialization. An application and research-oriented project seminar completes the studies, as does the master's thesis. The degree qualifies you as an expert who masters a repertoire of modern mathematical and computer-aided methods. These methods are flexibly applied to solve problems from various subject areas such as engineering, consulting, and finance. During the first and second semesters, you take courses in applied mathematics, physics, and computer science required for advanced modeling, simulation, and optimization of complex systems. In the third semester, you begin to focus on a specific area and topic by choosing modules. A project seminar deepens the specialization and prepares for the master's thesis in the fourth semester.
