About the Program

The program focuses on contributions from various engineering disciplines to protect the environment and sustainably secure human livelihoods. Students can create their individual profile by choosing three specialization areas from the following options: Water in Settlements, Wastewater and Resources, Hydraulic Engineering and Water Management, Sustainable Mobility, Environmental and Resource-Efficient Construction, Society, City and Environment, Circular Economy and Air Pollution Control, Environmental Process Engineering, and Environmental Natural Sciences. The mandatory core curriculum focuses on fundamentals and methods, including statistical and thermodynamic principles, geographic information systems (GIS), and economic, social, and political foundations needed for interdisciplinary solutions. The program is primarily designed for bachelor graduates in civil and environmental engineering but is also open to graduates from other engineering disciplines as well as natural and geosciences. Through the broad selection options, students can tailor the curriculum according to their interests and prior knowledge.
