Frequently Asked Questions
I selected Technische Universität Chemnitz (TU) and chose Informatics. It showed me the semesters, and since I'm starting from the first semester, I selected '1', but the screen froze. When I checked my cart, it was added. Just in case, I tried to remove it from the cart and add it again, but now I'm getting an error and can't add it back. Has anyone else experienced this issue? ▼
This is a common technical issue encountered, especially on Uni-Assist or university's own application portals. It usually stems from system overload or a temporary error. First, try clearing your browser's cache and attempting again from a different browser (e.g., Firefox instead of Chrome) or an incognito window. If the problem persists, you should directly contact the international office of the university you're applying to (in this case, Technische Universität Chemnitz) or the Uni-Assist support team. Taking a screenshot and explaining the issue in detail will speed up the resolution process.
How does the application process for Universität Regensburg work? ▼
Universität Regensburg generally accepts international student applications through Uni-Assist. The application process involves selecting your program, uploading required documents (diploma, transcripts, language proficiency certificates, etc.) to Uni-Assist, and paying the application fee. For detailed and up-to-date information, it's always important to check the 'International Students' section on the university's official website.
Is it difficult to find student accommodation in Regensburg? ▼
Like many popular university cities in Germany, finding accommodation in Regensburg can be competitive, especially at the start of a semester. Student dorms (Studentenwerk Regensburg) are the most affordable option, but their capacities are limited. Private shared apartments (WG - Wohngemeinschaft) or single apartments are also available. It's advisable to start your accommodation search as early as possible after completing your application.
Which German language proficiency exams are accepted at Universität Regensburg? ▼
Generally, exams like TestDaF, DSH, Goethe-Zertifikat C2, or telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule are accepted. Since each program might have its specific language requirements, it's crucial to check the requirements for your chosen program on the university's official website.
What are the opportunities for finding part-time jobs while studying in Regensburg? ▼
Regensburg is a student-friendly city with part-time job opportunities available. Positions in retail, gastronomy, logistics, or as a student assistant within the university are popular. Your level of German language proficiency and flexible working hours will increase your chances of finding a job. Remember that international students in Germany have legal limitations on working hours (generally 120 full days or 240 half days per year).
