Frequently Asked Questions

If I receive a conditional Master's admission in Germany based on language proficiency, which visa type should I apply for (40f, 36f, 41f)? ▼

If you've received conditional admission for a language course in Germany, you'll typically need to apply for visa types known as 'language course and university application' or 'university preparatory' visas. The specific visa types (40f, 36f, 41f) can vary based on the consulate's current practices and the details of your admission letter. To get the most accurate information, it's crucial to contact the international office of the university you've been admitted to and check the website of the German Consulate where you'll apply. Generally, a visa type that covers starting with a language course and then transitioning to university (e.g., 16f) might be more suitable.

Which banks do you recommend for a blocked account (Sperrkonto) in Germany? ▼

For opening a blocked account (Sperrkonto) in Germany, online providers like Fintiba and Coracle, or traditional banks like Deutsche Bank, are popular options. Online providers generally offer faster and easier processing, while banks like Deutsche Bank have a more established history. When making your choice, we recommend considering processing fees, customer service, and the account opening time.

Do Turkish companies in Germany comply with German rules regarding working hours and overtime pay? ▼

All companies operating in Germany, regardless of their nationality, must comply with German labor laws. This applies to working hours, overtime pay, holiday entitlements, and all other employee rights. Every business operating on German soil, including Turkish-owned companies, is subject to German legal regulations. You have the right to pursue legal action in case of any violations.

If I apply to a university in Germany after attending a German language course, will I have to pay tuition fees? ▼

In Germany, public universities, including those in the state of Baden-Württemberg, generally charge semester tuition fees (Studiengebühren) for international students from outside the EU/EEA. Attending a language course doesn't change this. In Baden-Württemberg, this fee is approximately 1,500 Euros per semester. However, there might be exceptions in some states or for specific programs. It's important to check the current tuition fee policies of the university you plan to apply to.

Can I find a Telc C1 Hochschule exam preparation course? ▼

Yes, many language schools and educational institutions in Germany and Turkey offer preparation courses for the Telc C1 Hochschule exam. These courses help you become familiar with the exam format and improve your reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. You can also find such courses on online platforms. When researching, it's beneficial to consider the course content, the instructors' experience, and previous student reviews.

Can I get a German visa with a Goethe A2 certificate and an IELTS score, or should I aim for B1? ▼

For university study visa applications in Germany, you'll generally need at least a B1 or B2 level of German proficiency, especially for German-taught programs. If you have conditional admission and the university expects you to reach a certain language level, the visa officer will also consider this expectation. While your Goethe A2 and IELTS scores indicate some language knowledge, they might not be sufficient for the visa. The consulate will want to see your intention and capacity to reach the language level specified in your university's conditional admission. For a strong visa application, it's advisable to reach B1 level or meet the level required by the university.
