About the Program

The Studium Fundamentale is a module in various Bachelor's and Master's degree courses at TU Dortmund University. As part of this module, students acquire knowledge and skills beyond their subject boundaries by attending courses in other disciplines. By gaining insight into other subjects and cultures, they broaden their perspective, develop a broader understanding of problems, findings and approaches to solutions in their own discipline, and prepare themselves for complex tasks in the world of work and life. While certificate programs are voluntary additional services, the Studium Fundamentale is a required part of specific degree programs. In principle, students from other disciplines may also take part in courses that are open to the Studium Fundamentale.
