About the Program

Ethics for teaching at Gymnasiums (high schools). Students acquire the scientific, didactic, and practical prerequisites for teaching Ethics. The program includes in-depth knowledge of disciplines, history, and fundamental problems of theoretical and practical philosophy. Students develop independent critical reflection and judgment skills on questions of theoretical and practical philosophy, using appropriate professional knowledge and methods such as concept and argument analysis, logical formalization, hermeneutic procedures, and real-world reference phenomena. The program enables students to develop independent arguments in ethics with appropriate consideration of philosophical-historical knowledge. Students also gain basic knowledge of historical, legal, moral, and curricular frameworks of ethics education, paradigmatic didactic approaches, domain-specific competence models, subject-specific teaching methods, and approaches to children's philosophy with their typical topics and methods.
