About the Program

This program trains students to become researchers who can be successful in academic contexts but can also apply their knowledge in applied areas of psychology. In line with the 'Scientist-Practitioner approach', students learn to combine scientific and applied activities. The transfer of scientific knowledge and methods to psychological practice has special significance in the program. Students acquire all necessary competencies for critically developing scientific questions and problems. They learn a variety of current techniques and methods and apply them to specific questions. Two internships, including at least one research internship that can be completed abroad, provide practical experience. Students also acquire general competencies in Open Science and science communication to translate scientific findings into practice. The program addresses important future-oriented professional fields of psychology at the interface of psychology and digitalization with Data Science and Digital Health.
