About the Program

As an interdisciplinary subject, nutrition science deals with various questions concerning human nutrition. The Master's programme in Nutritional Sciences offers an individual focus in the areas of preventive and therapeutic nutrition or food science. Students deal in depth with physiological and biochemical processes of human nutrition, with their disorders, the composition and analysis of foods and the functional mode of action of food ingredients. Teaching and research is conducted in the areas of: Human nutrition, Biochemistry and molecular biology, Food science, Nutrition in prevention and therapy, Nutrition and the immune system, and Molecular nutrition research. The program consists of 20 modules: 8 core (compulsory) modules, 8 profile (elective) modules, and a Master's thesis.
