About the Program
The Academic Speech Therapy/Logopedics program is offered by the Faculty of Human Sciences at JMU as an integrated dual Bachelor's program with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree. It is a single-subject study program. During the seven-semester standard period of study, 210 ECTS points must be earned, with practical skills only acquired outside the university. For this purpose, students at the university additionally need a training contract from the Vocational School for Logopedics Würzburg as a cooperation partner. Academic speech therapists/logopedists are experts in the diagnosis, therapy, counseling, prevention, and research of language, speech, voice, and swallowing disorders in adults and children. The program combines theoretical foundations with practical experience from the beginning of studies.
