About the Program
The Joint Master Heritage Conservation and Site Management is implemented by BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg in cooperation with Helwan University in Cairo and with support from the German Archaeological Institute and the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities. The program aims to impart knowledge and methods necessary for the protection and management of cultural heritage sites. The modules offered as part of the Joint Master therefore deal with areas such as: strategies and approaches in heritage conservation, cultural heritage management, tourism and visitor management. In addition, students complete two practice-oriented study projects. Applicants must decide before starting their studies whether they choose BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg or Helwan University as their home university. An important part of the study is a mandatory semester abroad at the respective partner university. The study structure is as follows: 1st semester at the home university; 2nd semester at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg; 3rd semester at Helwan University; 4th semester at the home university.
