About the Program

The binational master's programme in German as a Foreign and Second Language in the Vietnamese-German Context is a joint programme between the University of Languages and International Studies at Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the Faculty of Philology at Leipzig University / Herder Institute. The integrated binational MA programme with a double degree has a strong focus on both research and praxis. It combines the strengths of both participating partners: linguistics and applied linguistics, didactics, cultural studies and test research (Leipzig) with contrastive linguistics, translation studies and intercultural communication (Vietnam). Students study three semesters in Leipzig and one semester at the University of Languages and International Studies (ULIS) at Vietnam National University (VNU) in Hanoi. The programme includes a compulsory internship at renowned institutions of language teaching and cultural exchange in Vietnam.
