About the Program

The Joint Master's Programme in European Studies is jointly offered by the universities of Granada, Graz, Leipzig and Vilnius as part of the Arqus European University Alliance. The programme explores how Europe acts, is perceived, and is challenged in a global context, examining the relationship between Europeanisation and globalisation, the EU and its institutions, Europe's neighbours, the interaction between EU and non-EU states, and effects of global politics and developments on Europe. This interdisciplinary programme combines political science and international relations, sociology and social theory, economics and political economy, law and legal integration, and cultural and regional studies. Students can choose their study path and specialisation according to their interests, with each partner university offering its own geographic and thematic focus. The programme aims to equip students with the analytical skills needed to examine Europe's past, present and future roles on a research basis.
