About the Program

Your studies will focus on language minorities in society. You will acquire in-depth knowledge of selected European minority languages and examine societies in which minority languages are spoken on the basis of relevant phenomena. After completing your studies, you will have acquired intercultural and social science skills as multilingual specialists, which will also open up interesting prospects for you on the international job market. The programme includes four semesters at Leipzig University and two semesters (the fifth and sixth semesters) at the partner university in Szczecin, Poland. The curriculum includes areas such as minority research, Sorbian studies, Celtic studies, sociology/anthropology, and further minority languages.
