Bachelor German + English Mathematics & Natural Sciences

Environmental Sciences

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

About the Program

Environmental Sciences deals with processes in the living and non-living environment of humans. Due to the complexity of relationships, it is an interdisciplinary branch of natural sciences. While classical natural sciences are divided into fields like physics, chemistry, biology, and geology, such specialization is not appropriate in environmental sciences. The interdisciplinary program focuses on a holistic view of the environment and processes important for maintaining a livable environment. It follows a scientific study concept with contributions from physics and chemistry, complemented by ecology, microbiology, geology, and mathematics. Additionally, it includes law and economics. Students complete lectures, exercises, and seminars partly with students from individual disciplines and partly in courses specifically tailored to environmental sciences. The study is structured into basic, subject-specific, specialization, and project modules, with a six-month period allocated for the bachelor's thesis.
