About the Program

The program includes English literatures and cultural studies, linguistics, medieval literature and English language history. Varied seminars will improve the ability to contextualize and analyze texts, (visual) media and linguistic data. For this purpose, scientific-empirical methods and theories will be applied and discussed. Separate classes will systematically improve English language skills. Overall, the course of study ensures that important occupational skills, such as information literacy, abstract thinking and rhetorical skills will also be trained. The Bachelor program is structured into three years (six semesters) with a total of 13 modules for students choosing it as their main subject (Kernfach, 108 CP) or 6 modules as a secondary subject (Ergänzungsfach, 54 CP). The curriculum includes basic modules in Medieval Studies, English Language and Linguistics, and English and American Literary Studies, as well as language skills modules, methodology modules, and advanced modules in later semesters.
