About the Program

Students studying Economics will acquire basic specialist knowledge of economic theories and methods of analysis, enabling independent work on problem areas in a scientific way. The program teaches how to analyze economic mechanisms, institutions and governance structures systematically and adopt an economic perspective to decision-making structures and processes. Particular attention is paid to the significance of institutions for the national economy and provides an overview of structures on which economic actors' decisions are based. Students learn to develop options for action and decision-making, reflect upon them, and present findings orally and in writing. The lectures have an international focus with some lectures in English, preparing students for international professional practice. Integration of a voluntary semester abroad is expressly supported.
