About the Program

The field of economics encompasses the analysis of economic relationships of all kinds between businesses, consumers and state institutions. At the University of Oldenburg, considerable emphasis is placed on the fields of business administration and economics. Business administration (BWL) focuses on the organisation and function of businesses, whilst economics (VWL) examines broader relationships between actors in the economy, as well as the legal aspects of such relationships. In this dual-subject bachelor's programme, students learn the basic terms, methods and concepts of these disciplines, as well as the skills to analyse economic issues. Economics and Business Administration can be studied either in connection with a non-teaching career goal (as a subject with 30 or 60 ECTS credits) or as a professional teaching qualification (as a major subject with 90 ECTS credits).
