About the Program

The University of Potsdam and the Université Paris Nanterre offer a joint German-French law program. Students from both countries form a joint group and receive additional training in French law alongside the regular German law studies, accompanied by intensive language instruction. The first two years (four semesters) are spent at the University of Potsdam, where students begin their education in German law. Additionally, students attend courses on French law taught in French by French professors. After the first two years in Potsdam, students spend the third year (5th and 6th semesters) at the Université Paris Nanterre. Upon successful completion, they receive two university diplomas: the Licence en droit from Université Paris Nanterre and the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. German-French Studies) from the University of Potsdam. The year abroad is generously supported financially with two scholarships.
