About the Program

Cultural Studies and Management is an innovative bilingual (German and English) bachelor's degree program offered in collaboration with the Saarland University of Music (HfM). The program combines content from culture, media, music, business, and marketing in a unique concept. Students benefit from an interdisciplinary education that equips them with methodological and professional knowledge, preparing them for careers in cultural and music management, including the media sector, public cultural administration, advertising, and artist management. The program emphasizes practical orientation, offering students a variety of courses that prepare them for professional life. A three-month (international) internship is part of the program. Through close cooperation with external partners such as PopRat e.V. and Saarländischer Rundfunk (SR), students gain valuable insights into potential career fields. During their studies, students acquire profound knowledge about the history of popular culture and music, the ability to independently analyze media and culture, basic business knowledge (including accounting, management, and marketing), elaborate text production and communication skills, and excellent English language skills through the bilingual nature of the program. Besides interdisciplinary basic training in the mandatory area, students can specialize in one of the following areas: Culture and Media, Music Communication and Journalism, or Business Administration.
