About the Program

This 2-year program offers a research-oriented education in one of Germany's top universities for biomedical research. The MSc Biochemistry program offers two specializations: 1. Molecular Life Sciences - This program focuses on the structure and function of the molecules of life. Students select modules from sub-areas of "Structural and Functional Biochemistry" (30 ECTS required) and "Molecular and Medical Cell Biology" (20 ECTS required). 2. Molecular Oncology - This specialization emphasizes the molecular and cellular study of human cancer. It requires 35 ECTS in "Tumor Biology" modules and 15 ECTS in "Structural and Functional Biochemistry". Both specializations include "Completive Qualifications" (10-20 ECTS), "Research-oriented Projects" (20-30 ECTS), and a Master Thesis with colloquium (30 ECTS). Selected top students will be offered a "fast-track" option to start a PhD thesis after 3 semesters of MSc studies. Lectures and practical courses are taught by molecular biologists and clinicians working in the field of tumor biology.
