What is the grade difference between Uni-Assist VPD 1.0 and 4.0?
In the VPD, "1.0" and "4.0" represent the best and lowest passing grades in the German grading system. This works in reverse compared to the 4.0/2.0 system in TR.

Important Points
1. The German System Works "in Reverse"
- Lower grade = Better (1.0 is excellent)
- Higher grade = Worse (4.0 is weak)
Saying "My VPD grade is 2.0" means it's a good grade.
2. Modified Bayerische Formel
Your TR diploma is converted to the German grading system using the modified Bayerische Formel:
- TR maximum grade → DE 1.0
- TR minimum passing grade → DE 4.0
- Intermediate grades are interpolated

Practical Tip
When comparing your VPD grade, look at it with the correct system. Many international students ask, "I had a 3.5 in TR, why did I get a 1.7 in VPD?" — 1.7 is actually a very good German grade.
