Do TU9 universities in Germany require a Studienkolleg for Turkish high school graduates?
There is no TU9-specific Studienkolleg rule — the access routes for Turkish school leavers are the same at every German university. Whether you need a Studienkolleg depends on your type of Lise, your YKS score and your placement, not on whether the university belongs to TU9.
If you finished a general Lise
- 12-year general Lise + more than 180 points in SAY, SÖZ, EA or DİL + placement in a Lisans programme of at least 4 years at a faculty → direct access in the placed subject and related subjects, no Studienkolleg. You do not need to study in Türkiye.
- A general Lise does not automatically mean you need a Studienkolleg.
When a Studienkolleg comes in
- Meslek Lisesi + more than 180 points → a subject-oriented Studienkolleg (e.g. the T course for engineering); after one successful year of Lisans study in Türkiye → direct access instead.
- Without a placement, or below the threshold, there is no general official route; the university or the competent Land authority decides.
What is TU9-specific
Each university sets its own programme requirements (language level, prior knowledge, application procedure). Before applying to a TU9 university, check the programme page and whether it uses uni-assist. Whether your target engineering programme counts as related to your placed subject is also the university's call.
