Can you get admitted to a German university without a Studienkolleg or a year of study in Türkiye?

Yes — with a 12-year general Lise, a YKS score above 180 points in SAY, SÖZ, EA or DİL and a placement in a Lisans programme of at least 4 years at a faculty, you can apply without a Studienkolleg and without studying in Türkiye. This access is restricted to the placed subject and related subjects.

#Details of this route

• You don't need to enrol or study in Türkiye — the placement itself is what counts.
• The 180-point threshold applies "until further notice" (KMK decision of 30.06.2022); 170 points applied only to the 2020 exam year.
• anabin does not distinguish between Anadolu, Fen or other general Lise types.
• Placement at a university-affiliated 4-year Yüksekokul instead → direct access to Fachhochschulen only.
• Your ranking is not the criterion; score type, threshold and placement are.

#Without a placement

If you have a score but no placement, or are below the threshold, official sources define no general route. According to the DAAD admission database, a Lise graduate who did not take the YKS, or only has a TYT result, cannot be admitted. There is no automatic direct admission and no automatic Studienkolleg — the university or the competent Land authority decides.

#Meslek Lisesi graduates

With more than 180 points you go to a subject-oriented Studienkolleg; after one successful year of Lisans study in Türkiye you get direct subject-restricted access instead.

uni-assist asks for your Lise Diploması plus the YKS placement page. More in our anabin guide.
