A Closer Look at Munich Business School
Munich Business School (MBS) is an established, internationally-focused private university located in Munich, one of Germany's most prestigious business hubs. Since 1991, MBS has offered high-quality education in business and management, holding the status of a state-recognized Fachhochschule (University of Applied Sciences). This status aims to equip students with not only theoretical knowledge but also the practical skills demanded by the business world. The university is part of the Euro-Schulen-Organisation, operating with a mission to cultivate leaders for the global business community.
MBS offers a wide range of programs, with 18 bachelor's and 19 master's programs providing students with various specialization areas. Programs focusing on areas like International Business, Marketing, Finance, and Entrepreneurship equip students with the necessary tools for an international career. Small class sizes, a personalized learning experience, and strong industry connections are key features that distinguish MBS from other universities. Students get the chance to gain real-world experience through internships and projects. Furthermore, MBS's international student and faculty profile offers a rich cultural diversity and a global perspective on campus.
Business Education and Career Opportunities in Munich
Munich is not only one of Germany's strongest economic cities but also home to giant companies like BMW, Siemens, and Allianz. This creates unique internship and career opportunities, especially for students studying business and management. MBS's location in Munich provides students with significant advantages for direct connections with these companies and post-graduation job prospects.
While large public universities like "TU München" and "LMU München", often mentioned in community insights, typically offer a broader range of education, MBS adopts a completely business-focused, more boutique, and practical education model. This makes it an attractive option, especially for students who want to enter the business world quickly or aim for in-depth specialization in a particular area. While MBS being a private university means higher tuition fees compared to public universities, the personalized education, international network, and career support services it offers can balance this cost. Munich's high quality of life and cultural diversity also enrich students' educational experience.

Since MBS is a career-focused university, students often take active roles in career clubs, entrepreneurship communities, and industry events. Munich's general student culture is also very vibrant; thanks to the many universities in the city, the student population is dense, meaning access to countless social activities, cafes, bars, and cultural events. Especially during the summer months, it's quite common to find students spending time along the Isar River or in the English Garden (Englischer Garten).

Frequently Asked Questions
As a mechatronics engineer residing in Munich, how can I get my degree recognized? ▼
To get your engineering degree recognized in Germany, you should first check the recognition status of your university and program in the Anabin database. Recognition applications are usually made through ZAB (Zentralstelle für ausländisches Bildungswesen - Central Office for Foreign Education). The process involves collecting documents, having them translated, and submitting them to ZAB. Institutions offering consultation services in Munich or the Turkish consulate can also guide you. The recognition process can vary from person to person, so it's important to follow the latest information from official bodies.
Do I need to obtain a VPD from Uni-Assist to apply to Munich Business School? ▼
No, Munich Business School (MBS) is not a member of Uni-Assist. Therefore, you must submit your applications to MBS directly through the university's own application portal or relevant departments. You do not need to obtain a VPD (Vorprüfungsdokumentation - preliminary review documentation) via Uni-Assist. For application requirements and necessary documents, it's best to check MBS's official website directly.
Is it more advantageous to pursue a master's degree or an Ausbildung in Germany? Especially regarding job prospects and livelihood. ▼
This decision depends on your personal goals and current situation. A master's degree provides academic depth and specialization, while an Ausbildung (vocational training) offers a quicker entry into professional life and the chance to gain practical skills. While you might have part-time work opportunities during a master's, you typically receive a salary during an Ausbildung, which can ease financial strain. However, in the long term, a master's degree can open doors to higher positions and salaries. Your German level (B2/C1) might be sufficient for a master's, but you could also consider English-taught programs. Both have advantages and disadvantages; a master's offers more theoretical knowledge and international career opportunities, while an Ausbildung can lead to faster integration into the German labor market. When deciding, you should consider your financial situation, career goals, and language skills.
I'm torn between TU Dortmund and Duisburg-Essen universities for Business Administration. How might Munich Business School be an alternative? ▼
Public universities like TU Dortmund and Duisburg-Essen typically cater to broader audiences, offering theoretically-heavy education and large campuses. Munich Business School, as a private university of applied sciences, provides a more boutique, practice-oriented, and international education in Business Administration. If a more personalized learning experience, smaller classes, strong industry connections, and an international network are priorities for you, MBS could be a more suitable option. Additionally, Munich being one of Germany's most important business centers offers significant advantages to MBS students in terms of internships and career opportunities. However, as a private university, tuition fees will be higher than at public universities. When making your choice, you should consider your budget, expectations for teaching style, and career goals.
