Master of Science (M.Sc.)

About the Program

This Master of Science program is a joint program of the Departments of Applied Engineering Sciences (AIng), Business Administration (BW), and Applied Logistics and Polymer Sciences (ALP). It builds on the foundational knowledge and interdisciplinary competence profiles developed in related bachelor's programs and offers a strong practical focus on production and logistics with an emphasis on production management. The program is structured to enable students to utilize the competencies and resources of generalists at the interfaces of engineering and economics across disciplines and study locations. Graduates acquire well-founded general management competencies and have specialized and in-depth knowledge in the interface areas of logistics and production management, which are of great importance for their professional life. The program trains managers with broad expertise and well-founded leadership skills. Modern production management in a globalized world requires the ability to comprehensively understand and analyze complex production processes and associated logistics, and to optimize them under aspects such as economic efficiency, quality, and time. The production management focus therefore covers subjects such as quality management, production organization, and methods like project management, lean production, and value stream design, as well as current technology trends and digitalization.
