Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen [Industrial Engineering and Management]

Master of Science (M.Sc.)

About the Program

Corporate processes are increasingly oriented towards globalization and global market competition, which is also leading to a reorientation of the classic engineering programs. This two-year interdisciplinary master's degree program in business engineering reflects the trend towards thinking in terms of the entire complex of technology and economics. The program is run jointly by Universität Hamburg, the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW), and the Helmut-Schmidt University/University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg, and places particular emphasis on the combination of engineering and business. The aim is to train students for work within companies and research in which complex engineering and business issues can be resolved using sound and established methods. In both areas, students can further specialize—in energy technology in the engineering component and in corporate management in the business component, for example. The curriculum is rounded out with a component combining both areas.
