About the Program

This is a two-subject Bachelor's degree program aimed at preparing students to become teachers at Grundschulen (primary schools). The program combines two subjects that students would like to teach later. It comprises a total of 180 credits: 51 credits in the major subject, 45 credits in the minor subject, 45 credits in educational sciences and educational psychology, 12 credits in an area of specialization, 12 credits for school placements, and 15 credits for the Bachelor's thesis. The Bachelor's degree alone does not qualify for the teaching profession; students need to complete a consecutive Master of Education degree program. Students must choose German Studies or Mathematics Education as one subject, and can combine it with English Studies, Protestant Theology and Religious Education, German Studies, Mathematics Education, Music and Music Education, or Sports and Physical Education.
