Teacher Education for Primary Schools

Master of Education (M.Ed.)

About the Program

The consecutive M.Ed. for teaching in primary schools offers graduates with a major in a relevant field the possibility to systematically further expand their academic knowledge in their subject, while enhancing their professional orientation. Students study the two instructional subjects that they had already chosen as part of their Bachelor degree while also developing their professional knowledge in the educational sciences. The four-semester programme follows the European system of Bachelor and Masters degrees as defined by the Bologna process, and also meets the specific guidelines for teacher education established by the state of Lower Saxony and the conference of cultural affairs ministers. A long-time internship at a school in Lower Saxony and a research project are integrated into the curriculum.
