About the Program

Sustainable International Agriculture (SIA) is a joint study programme of the agricultural faculties of the University of Göttingen and the University of Kassel-Witzenhausen. This Joint degree is for students who want to contribute to a sustainable development of agriculture worldwide. It offers a well-founded knowledge of bio-physical and socio-economic factors determining agricultural livelihood systems, an understanding of global ecosystems and their relationship with agriculture and social, professional and methodological expertise. The study programme is internationally oriented and offers three possibilities for specialization (profiles): International Agribusiness and Rural Development Economics, International Organic Agriculture, and Tropical Agricultural and Agroecosystems Sciences. As a joint degree program, students can take advantage and combine the academic resources and opportunities offered by both faculties and their local and international partners. Students receive one certificate with the name of both institutions.
