About the Program

The MSc Sustainable International Agriculture (SIA) is a joint degree program of two German Universities: The University of Kassel in Witzenhausen (Organic Agricultural Sciences) and the University of Göttingen (Agricultural Sciences). All SIA modules are taught in English. The study programme is internationally oriented and offers three possibilities for specialisation: International Agribusiness and Rural Development Economics (focusing on analysing socio-economic interactions between individuals, resources and markets in agriculture), International Organic Agriculture (focusing on organic agriculture under different natural, economic and socio-cultural conditions), and Tropical Agricultural and Agroecosystems Sciences (focusing on sustainable agricultural land use of integrated tropical and subtropical agro-ecosystems). Depending on the specialisation, the courses take place in Göttingen or at campus Witzenhausen. The programme addresses the ecological and socio-economic interactions of natural and agrarian systems in a global context, using state of the art research methods within a supportive research and learning environment.
