About the Program

The program offers specialization options in: 'Electrochemical energy conversion and storage' dealing with chemical energy, batteries, fuel cells and electromobility; 'Semiconductor-based energy conversion' focusing on solar cells and thermoelectrics; 'Fluid-based energy conversion' focusing on hydropower and wind power; and 'Thermal energy conversion and storage' dealing with plant materials as renewable raw materials. The aim is to build on a systematic overview of sustainable energy systems/regenerative energies, to acquire in-depth specialist knowledge in selected areas, to become familiar with theoretical and application-related aspects, and to enable scientific work. Students acquire broad, integrative and interdisciplinary knowledge in sustainable energy technology from process engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, natural sciences and environmental science.
