About the Program

The interdisciplinary minor in Sustainability Studies provides students with a sound understanding of the theories, epistemological foundations and methodological approaches in the field of sustainability studies. The program consists of three parts: basic modules, a Sustainability Studies project, and a specialization module. Students can choose from 31 specializations dealing with sustainability from specific disciplinary perspectives. The program develops students' ability to critically analyze and classify discourses and processes of sustainable transformation from different scientific disciplines and perspectives, and apply these to relevant societal challenges. Students develop skills in systemic thinking, anticipation, normative and strategic competence, and practice- and transfer-oriented project work enables testing theoretical knowledge in inter- and transdisciplinary contexts.
