Supplementary Subject Film Studies

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

About the Program

In the supplementary subject Film Studies, you will learn about the history, aesthetics and theories of film close to the material. We watch and analyze films and film excerpts in seminars. You will get to know a wide range of popular films, international genres and experimental art films - from arthouse cinema to blockbusters. In addition to classic feature films and documentaries, we also cover cinematic media such as videos on platforms and film in social media. We ask how films are structured, what they tell, how they work and how their aesthetics have developed.
