About the Program

This part-time course provides essential knowledge for specialists/experts in repair, conversion, and construction in existing buildings. Students learn to independently assess and evaluate building conditions and damage, and plan repairs considering technical, economic, and legal aspects. The program includes scientific and technical principles on structural damage occurrence and prevention, building condition examination using modern measurement methods, damage analysis, repair methods, and drafting expert reports. The course features recognized experts from science and practice, including professors from Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences and Kaiserslautern Technical University, publicly appointed experts, and industry specialists. The program is designed as a dual study program combining self-learning phases and on-campus sessions (2 presence weeks per semester), with small study groups of maximum 26 participants. It offers intermediate certificates: 'Specialist for Structural Damage and Construction Defects' (after 3rd semester) and 'Expert for Structural Damage, Construction Defects and Repair Planning' (after 4th semester).
