Mechanical Engineering

Master of Science (M.Sc.)

About the Program

Technical products and processes, development and construction constitute the basis of all types of production. Mechanical engineering represents an important element of this basis of technological progress. Traditional and new technologies and materials can be innovatively combined in mechanical engineering. This leads to ever new developments and the continuous improvement of products and manufacturing processes. The design of end products and the machinery and equipment required to produce them is increasingly characterised by systemic integration into a closed concept that begins with order processing and culminates in guaranteed operational availability. The Master's degree programme in Mechanical Engineering at Leibniz Universität Hannover is noted for the great freedom of choice offered to students. The only compulsory modules are Machine Dynamics and Industrial Science. Students may specialize in 'Energy and Process Engineering', 'Development and Construction', or 'Production Technology'.
