About the Program

Splicing is a traditional technique from seafaring, where ropes or wires are connected or processed into loops without machines. This technique has enormous advantages over knots or clamped connections in terms of tensile strength, abrasion resistance, ergonomics and aesthetics! In this workshop, you will get hands-on experience and learn the basics of splicing with the support of an experienced sailmaker through beautiful work samples. This short workshop takes place on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. No prior knowledge or prerequisite courses are required. Tools and course materials will be provided. The group size is limited to 10 people.
