Soziologie [Sociology]Sociology

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

About the Program

The Bachelor's program in Sociology aims to critically analyze social processes and structures using sociological concepts, theories, and methods, and to derive concrete conclusions from these findings. The program provides students with the theoretical and methodological foundations of sociology as well as elementary research results in the field. Students should be enabled to apply the acquired knowledge independently and to specialize. For this purpose, different areas of application are focused on in the advanced phase, including 'Economy and Business', 'Empirical Social Research', 'Environment and Society', and 'International Comparative Research'. Students should also learn to communicate the information, ideas, and problem solutions they have developed to both specialists and laypeople. The Bachelor's program also includes a freely selectable minor subject, which can meaningfully complement the qualifications from the major study.
