About the Program

This is a dual study program in Applied Computer Science (Angewandte Informatik) with a focus on Software Engineering. The program combines theoretical blocks at DHSH with practical phases at an employer, allowing students to directly apply what they've learned. Students can choose between an education-integrating variant (combined with vocational training) or a practice-integrating variant. The program covers modern software engineering, data management, artificial intelligence, and IT system security. In addition to the Bachelor's degree, students can also obtain a vocational qualification as an IT specialist (IHK) in one of four specializations: system integration, application development, data and process analysis, or digital networking. The IHK examination takes place after 2.5 years. Career prospects include roles such as Full-Stack Developer, Data Scientist, IT Security Specialist, Software Tester, or System Administrator. The program requires 180 ECTS credits, distributed across mandatory modules (130), elective modules (20), practical phase projects (18), and bachelor thesis with colloquium (12).
