About the Program

The Master degree program Social Work: Shaping Participation with a Future Focus pursues questions related to needs-based organization of communal spaces. It aims to qualify students to think and act from an inquisitive, plan-oriented, conceptual, strategic, and political standpoint to support the achievement of communal strategies of social participation in various fields (e.g. neighborhood management, social planning, educational bureaus, offices for family matters, migration service, etc.). Graduates will possess conceptual, project, research, and leadership skills, as well as training in project management and in-depth research methodological knowledge. The program qualifies graduates for management positions in specialized services and departments of social, educational, and youth welfare administrations, management and coordinating positions in local networking bodies, activities in social planning, quality and evaluation officers, advisors for strategic social planning, academic positions in research institutes, and activities in neighborhood management and urban development.
