About the Program

This Master's degree programme is aimed at future managers in social organisations and opens up opportunities for research-oriented activities. It prepares students to analyse complex social problems such as diversity, social inequality, digitalisation, globalisation and socio-ecological change and to develop innovative solutions. A central focus of the degree programme is on developing the skills required for structural change, the strategic development of social organisations and the design of educational arrangements. This is complemented by the promotion of extensive research skills that enable students to analyse and critically reflect on social change and transformation from the perspective of social work and related disciplines. Students acquire in-depth methodological principles of social research and realise their own research and transfer projects on complex social challenges. The aim of the degree programme is to develop innovative solutions for social challenges and to analyse and critically evaluate social developments through research. The degree programme extends over four semesters (standard period of study) and comprises a total of 120 ECTS credits. It is a further development of the 'Pedagogy and Management in Social Work' degree programme, which was established in 2006/07.
