About the Program

The Master's program in Social Design and Sustainable Innovation challenges the existing system and thinks design from the perspective of social and global challenges. The aim is to educate a new generation of designers who can innovate and think critically. Students work with methods such as social design thinking, cooperation, co-creation and other qualitative research methods with overarching goals of fairness, transparency and sustainability. The program covers social design, social campaigning, corporate design, interaction design, socially engaged art, digital innovation, exhibition and event design, design practice in visual communication, editorial design, photography, film, UX/UI design, and design thinking. The program also integrates futurology, cultural participation and cultures of care. Graduates can work as art directors, designers, consultants, project managers, interaction designers, change managers, and curators for companies and institutions. The degree also prepares students for doctoral or PhD programs, opening paths to academic careers in teaching and research.
