About the Program

The Social and Cultural Anthropology minor teaches students to identify the fundamental forms and dimensions of social coexistence, and to analyse and differentiate between their foundations. Students can also research the causes, dynamics, interpretations and forms of conflict and explore the interactions between people and the environment and how they are transformed. Students gain hands-on experience by working on and with objects in the department's ethnographic collection while discussing their social and cultural meanings. You will have the opportunity to focus on regional societies in the Americas and the Caribbean. An integral part of the combined Bachelor's degree is the MarSkills programme, in which you will acquire valuable, future-oriented skills.
