With the rise of global challenges like climate change, dwindling resources, and a surging need for energy, the call to shift towards smarter and more sustainable energy systems has never been more crucial. Traditional energy sources, known for their environmental impact and limited availability, are slowly giving way to innovative solutions that prioritise efficiency, smart technology, and environmental responsibility. At the heart of the already ongoing energy transition is the rapid development of new technologies, systems and concepts, as it is performed by scientists and industry experts in the Ruhr area – a region that has successfully mastered the structural change from a former coal mining area to one of the densest education and research landscapes in Germany. This course will enable you to gain insight into a variety of topics related to energy management as well as smart energy systems and the advanced technologies needed to implement them.
