About the Program

Business Information Systems is an interdisciplinary field of study that combines concepts from economics with computer science. It provides key qualifications to actively shape an environment of increasingly networked information systems, opening up a broad and growing professional field. The core subject areas include: conception of innovative online platforms, optimization of globally networked business processes, and implementation of modern application systems. At MLU Halle-Wittenberg, Business Information Systems is strongly represented with three professorships and offers broad training in the fundamentals and specialized areas. Special focus areas include: E-Business, IT security and web engineering, information, business process and knowledge management, simulation and applied optimization, networks and transport logistics.
