About the Program

The Quereinstiegsmaster Lehramt (M.Ed.) offers graduates of bachelor's degree programs with a focus on computer science, mathematics or physics an attractive alternative educational and career path through entry into teaching. The program does not replace the previous teacher training, but opens the gateway for graduates of these degree programs to enter teacher preparation service for secondary level I and secondary level II (LS 1+2), i.e., later school service at gymnasiums and community schools. The study includes scientific, didactic, practical subject and school practical studies. It consists of a foundation area, which primarily teaches educational science content, and a double subject chosen by students at the beginning of their studies. Selectable double subjects are computer science, mathematics and physics. Students choose one of these three subjects. The program requires 120 credit points.
