About the Program

The Master's programme consists of four semesters. In the first two semesters, the basics of psychology, research methodology and diagnostics are studied in more detail. This is supplemented in the first three semesters by various applied courses in the area of psychotherapy. Practical relevance is achieved by a research-oriented practical course and two courses simulating professional practice. The fourth semester allows for further academic qualification by writing a Master's thesis. The program is structured in accordance with the German Approbationsordnung (licensing regulations) for psychotherapists and enables the holder to take the psychotherapeutic examination. After successfully completing the studies and passing the Approbation examination, graduates will be authorized to work as psychotherapists.
