About the Program

The Master of Science (M.Sc.) programme in "Psychology with a focus on Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy" is a modular programme at JLUL's Faculty 06 (Psychology and Sport Sciences). It is consecutive to a polyvalent bachelor's degree programme in psychology. With the Master's degree, graduates fulfill the prerequisites for the state examination and can apply for admission to the State Examination Office. With the state examination, the license to practice medicine is obtained. The state examination takes place independently of the universities. The programme prepares students for independent work in selected professional fields with a clinical-psychological and psychotherapeutic focus, especially in health and social services, but also in the scientific field. The curriculum includes core modules in Research Methods, Psychological Diagnostics, and Research-oriented internship, as well as modules in Biological aspects of mental illness, Special Disorders and Behavioral Theory, Applied psychotherapy, Practice modules, and a Thesis module.
