About the Program

Psychology deals with the conditions of human behavior and experience. It examines the relationships between human behaviors and their environment, as well as intrapersonal processes of both biological and cognitive nature. The psychology program focuses on methods of observing and analyzing human behavior. Besides studying general principles of human behavior (such as motivation, learning, thinking), it examines differences in experiences and behaviors of different individuals in the same or similar situations, as well as the development of human functions like motor skills, language, and intelligence. Psychology is an independent science with an interdisciplinary orientation, drawing on knowledge from mathematics, (neuro)biology, clinical medicine, computer science, and cultural and media studies. The Bachelor's program is structured in three foundational areas and four application areas, covering research methodology, psychological diagnostics, general and biological psychology, social and developmental psychology, differential psychology, and personality psychology. The application areas include clinical psychology and clinical neuropsychology, diagnostics and counseling, and cognition, learning, and development.
